January GSMC Meeting

Rick Grassley, one of our past presidents, will share some of the research he has done on the Spanish Flu epidemic and how it impacted the citizens of Monroe County.  The Spanish Flu spread across the entire world and killed thousands of individuals, many thought to be healthy until they contracted this terrible illness.  It was a leading cause of death for those in the military during WW1, and because of the close quarters of the soldiers it spread quickly despite attempts to quarantine the sick.

As always, the public is welcome and refreshments will be served.
