The museum staff invites you to attend a dedication of the new grave marker for Monroe artist, Robert S. Duncanson. Duncanson was one the first African-American painters to garner international acclaim.
The Duncanson family is interred in Woodland Cemetery, but most are in unmarked graves. A group of artists in Detroit raised enough money to purchase a marker which will be erected in Woodland Cemetery very soon.
Join the museum in celebrating one of Monroe County's artists.
